Running game and defense. Not the hallmarks of the past two seasons
under Tom Brady but it was all the Bucs needed to win their season-opener
in Dallas. After an opening Cowboy fieldgoal, they were held no closer than
the Tampa 41-yard line the rest of the game. Mike Evans had the only
touchdown on a leaping fade pattern and Ryan Succop added four field
goals as the Bucs amassed 152 yards on the ground led by Lenny
Fournette.
