Was a 17th round pick of the New York Jets in 1973 but never played in the NFL at all. Was also a punter in college and had spent two
seasons playing semi-pro ball for his father's team, the Cumberland Colts, before he got his shot in camp with the Buccaneers. Did see very
brief action during the first pre-season game in Los Angeles. Was released on August 18 when the Bucs acquired QB Larry Lawrence.
