Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23 Carolina Panthers 10Sunday 17 November 2002 at Raymond James StadiumFOX COMMENTARY CREWCurt Menafee and Tim Ryan
Returning from their bye weel, the Bucs improved their record to 8-2 by completing a season sweep of their division rival Panthers in spite of trailing for much of the first half. Brad Johnson played another solid game, hitting his two main receiving targets, Keyshawn Johnson and Keenan McCardell for a score each. Then it was over to the Buccaneer defense as always, intercepting Rodney Peete three times and sacking him four more. “Their defense is fantastic,'' Panthers center Jeff Mitchell said. ``I was with the [Super Bowl champion Baltimore] Ravens two years ago, and that's how we won the whole thing - with defense. Why can't they?''
