Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10 Minnesota Vikings 21Sunday 15 December 1996 at The MetrodomeFOX COMMENTARY CREW Joe Buck and Bill Maas
The Vikings gave the Bucs a little taste of their own defensive medicine, limiting Tampa Bay to a season-low 169 total yards. The Bucs did hold an early lead, scoring first on a five-yard blast by Errict Rhett in the first quarter. Credit for that drive went to Karl Williams, who returned Mitch Berger’s punt 72 yards in the first quarter, notching the second-longest punt return in Buc history just one week after posting the team’s second-longest kickoff return ever.
