Steve DeBerg set a Buc record by throwing seven interceptions in a single game and the Niners took full
advantage to rout the Bucs in the 1986 season opener. In spite of this, DeBerg's TD pass to Gerald Carter got
the Bucs within one score in the third quarter, but that was as close as they got. Lee Roy Selmon's No.63
shirt was retired in a half-time ceremony and Joe Montana suffered a disc injury that kept him out most of the
season in the fourth quarter.
