Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9 Dallas Cowboys 14Sunday 21 November 1982 at Texas StadiumCBS COMMENTARY CREWFrank Gleiber and Joe Greene
The Bucs fell to 0-3 in their first game after the nine-week players' strike despite outgaining the Cowboys 382-185 in total yardage. Failure to convert scoring opportunities into touchdowns killed the Bucs as they drove inside the Dallas 10-yard line on five separate occasions but could not score a touchdown. Bill Capece connected on three fieldgoals but missed a fourth when he was wide right from 24 yards. Yet despite that, the Bucs still had a late chance to win. Kevin House was ruled out of the endzone on a pass play with 31 seconds remaining, although Jimmie Giles caught a Doug Williams pass inside the Dallas 10 two plays later, but was stripped of the ball and the Cowboys recovered to the seal the win.
