The offense was shutout and the Bucs only got on the board on Richard "Batman" Wood's fumble return in the second quarter. "Hollywood" Henderson's interception return was the longest such play against the Bucs at the time and set the tone for a game that the Cowboys dominated in terms of yardage. The Bucs were no less than 21 point underdogs. The game also featured the top two selections from the 1977 NFL draft with Tony Dorsett having by far the better of the day against No.1 overall pick Ricky Bell.
