| Jacquez Green TD reception Monday Night Football Tampa Bay v Green Bay 7 December 1998 The background The Buccaneers had not been on Monday Night Football since December 1983. 15 long years since the famous show had gone to Tampa. And then with the revival of the Bucs' fortunes in 1997, the Bucs were given a pair of games on ABC the following season, a road game in Detroit and a home game with the Packers at Raymond James Stadium. And by all accounts, the place was a zoo that night! The game situation Trailing 3-0 late in the first quarter, Trent Dilfer hit Jacquez Green on a slant pass that the rookie receiver took 64 yards for a score. On the next drive, Dilfer repeated the trick to Bert Emanuel and the Bucs went on to win 24-22 in a game that was never really that close. The selection of Green's play was a result of Phil Jones phoning me at around 2.30am that morning whilst we were watching it live on Channel 5.
