| "Matt Bryant is my hero" Raymond James Stadium 22 October 2006 The background The 2006 season was not a good one for Buccaneer fans. A 4-12 season marred by poor quarterback play and injuries did not see too many highlights. Except one memorable one witnessed by many members of the Bucs UK who were in Tampa for this game against the Eagles. So when you tell people you were there when Matt Bryant kicked a 62-yard fieldgoal as time expired, I guess you have some serious street cred. Especially when it was against Philly. We have again added Gene Deckerhoff's immortal commentary to this clip, one that made it on to British radio the following week. Hardy Nickerson is the man saying "Hallelujah" at the end of it. The game situation The Bucs trailed 21-20 with 33 seconds left. One complete pass and a Bruce Gradkowski scramble left them at the Philadelphia 44-yard line. Matt Bryant then promptly kicked the longest fieldgoal in Buccaneer franchise history to win it. Click here for all the game details |
