Setting the tone early
Raymond James Stadium
6 December 1999

The background
The Bucs were at home on Monday Night Football and once again it was a complete zoo in the stands. And it was the week after Trent Dilfer had broken his collarbone leaving the offense in the rookie hands of Shaun King. So here was a kid making his first NFL start against the Minnesota Vikings on national TV. No pressure.

What the Bucs needed was a quick start and they got it thanks to cornerback Donnie Abraham. His interception return gave Tony Dungy's team an early lead and they went on to win 24-17 to continue their march towards the division title and an eventual NFC Championship showdown with the high-scoring St.Louis Rams.

The game situation
It was the third play of the game and the Vikings had the ball at the Buc 42-yard line. Jeff George tried a quick slant pass to the right but it was blocked by Abraham who was blitzing on the play. He caught his own rebound and took it to the house for quick six points to start the game.
