Sacked into a snowdrift
Lambeau Field
1 December 1985

The background
The most unbelievable game in franchise history played in the worst conditions I have ever seen for an NFL game.

There was snow all over the field in Green Bay when the game started and it was compounded by a 30 mph wind and four inches of snow falling during the game itself. For most of the games, the lines on the field were invisible and any semblance of normal offense went out of the window.

And the Bucs, with a grand total of two wins all season coming into the game, were in white. And at quarterback, making only his second NFL start having come over from the USFL, was Steve Young. He must have wondered why he had bothered leaving Los Angeles in the first place.

The game situation
This was just one play from many we could have used from this game but was one of Alphonso Carreker's four sacks on the day. Young admitted he could hardly breathe when he was flattened into a snowdrift on the field in Green Bay.

From the ridiculous to the sublime, this is a countdown to bring back a lot of memories for Buccaneer fans of all ages around the world.

Whereas the top 20-30 plays do stand out and are able to be ranked subjectively (and have been by some of the Tampa media), the early plays are generally spread out across the years and can only be placed approximately in terms of their importance.
