Pittsburgh Steelers
All-time record: 1-7
The Bucs and Steelers have only met seven times in franchise history, and only once, in 1998, have the Bucs come out on top. That was a typically dominant defensive performance by Sapp, Nickerson, Brooks and the crew, unlike the 2001 meeting when Jerome Bettis drove all over the Tampa run stoppers as the Steelers won 17-10. The 1983 game in Three Rivers Stadium, the last time the Bucs travelled to Pittsburgh, saw James Wilder set an NFL record (since broken) with 42 carries in a single game. The most recent encounter came on Monday Night Football in December 2002 when without the injured Brad Johnson, the Bucs fell 17-0 down in the first quarter and could never get back on terms with their AFC rivals.
