Well, the Bucs have made the playoffs and as division champs as well. I think that at the start of the season most of us would have taken a wild-card berth, never mind winning the division. Anything else at the start would just have been wishful thinking.
It is really good to see a Buc player getting a league-wide award in offensive rookie award in Carnell "Cadillac" Williams it has been a while since the team has gotten such acclaim. Not since the Super Bowl winning season has the team gotten such attention and it is long over due as the team was/is not as bad as the last couple of seasons record's have made people believe. Who knows maybe this season could see the team going back to the big game.
The offense did struggle when Chris Simms first took over from Brian Griese, but everyone started to stand up and be counted after a couple of games. It puts a very nice feeling inside when I think that maybe the team could do it all again and this time it will be a Jon Gruden team.
It would be really nice if the Super Bowl was the Bucs against the Colts and I must admit I am not sure who I would cheer for if that happened as the Bucs still owe Tony Dungy so much and he has gone through so much on a personnel level in the last two weeks or so. It would have been even better if we had faced the Falcons in the NFC Championship game but this is not to be. I know that this was getting ahead of myself but hey we are allowed too some times
I know that this is a bit early but hopefully the team will still working on the defense in the off-season as most of the veterans on that side of the ball are old and will not be playing for more than a couple of more years as some are left overs from the coach Dungy teams.
Although I doubt this will happen, it would be nice to put the Panthers out of the play-offs and if it is not us, then I hope they go out at the first hurdle it would make my day as I must admit that they have little or no class (please see the story about two of their cheerleaders from earlier this season and Steve Smith getting thrown out of their game against the Cowboys for touching one of the officals).
It is also nice to see the ESPN shows back on NASN even if it is only for a short time (until March) but hey bettor than nothing amd it is a huge shame that the primetime shows have come to an end in the USA as ESPN have lost the package that they had but do now have Monday night football from ABC.
