Played the 1988 season as part of the "The Three Horsemen" backfield with fellow rookies Lars Tate and William Howard having played for Ray Perkins at Alabama. Was not protected under the Plan B free agent program at the end of that season and signed with Denver but injuries prevented him from ever fulfilling his promising rookie season. Made one final NFL appearance for the Dolphins later in the 1989 season before leaving the NFL for good. Recorded the first safety in team history when he downed the punter after a fumbled snap against Chicago.
