Kansas City Chiefs
All-time record: 4-5

The Bucs and Chiefs would normally only have met once every three years under the NFL's original scheduling format, but thanks to both teams have corresponding fifth place finishes in a couple of years, the two sides have met a little more often than the Bucs have played other AFC West teams. The most memorable Tampa Bay v Kansas City encounter came in 1979 when on a rainy day at Tampa Stadium, the Bucs clinched their first division title in the lowest-scoring game in franchise history. The 1984 encounter saw quarterbacks Steve DeBerg and Bill Kenney set an NFL record for the most passes thrown in a game, whilst a recent meeting in 1999, featured a game that the Bucs won in spite of committing six turnovers including five fumbles. The 2004 game turned into an offensive shootout, the likes of with the Bucs have rarely been involved in and even less rarely won.
