Played four seasons in the pro game, 1966 with Buffalo, 1967 with Miami, 1968 with Pittsburgh and then finally 1969 with Green Bay, Led the AFL in fieldgoal attempt and extra point conversions when with the Bills. Was out of football for seven years before trying out with the Bucs. Famously refused to kick in white shoes and insisted that equipment assistant Frank Pupello paint his regular black shoes white before he would play. Did not make the team and never actually kicked during the pre-season for the Buccaneers but did suit up for the first exhibition game in Los Angeles. Was released after that game on August 2nd 1976.
