Profile
Took over as starting middle linebacker in 2007 and merely won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Month award for September. Missed only the final regular season game when many starters were being rested for the playoffs. Spent his first two seasons as a back-up at the Bucs' strongest position after two seasons of stellar play when he has had the chance to make the line-up. His father Tom played at Nebraska from 1972-74 and played in the NFL for several seasons and his cousin John Howell was the Bucs fourth-round pick in 2001.
