Blount about to pass the A-Train
Long time Bucs fans, close your eyes and cover your ears, because LeGarrette Blount is about to take over sacred ground in Bucs record books.

With his recent effort Sunday against the Packers, Blount recorded his 6th 100-yard game in his second season, although he was not starting the first six games of 2010, so really he’s just starting his second year with Tampa Bay. And he is about to pass some historic Bucs players on the 100 yard game list…and he’s doing it in a lot less time!

Blount has tied Earnest Graham with six, but that puts him one 100-yard game behind four guys tied with seven 100-yard games, but two of those names are hallowed in Bucs history. Not a big deal that one more 100-yard game will tie Reggie Cobb and Michael Pittman, but seven 100-yard games ties Mike Alstott and the late Ricky Bell too.

One more and he ties Errict Rhett, and still yet another brings Cadillac Williams down a notch. From there Warrick Dunn is only two more 100-yard games away, which Blount could accomplish next season.

James Wilder is still safe, but Wilder’s career mark is passable should Blount stay at his pace sometime in 2013, or sooner if Blount gets a steady dose of carries in 2012.
