The Buccaneers rebounded strongly from their surprising loss in Chicago, winning in New York for the first time in 10 tries. Rookie RB Warrick Dunn ground out 120 yards on 24 carries, FB Mike Alstott scored one touchdown each in the running and passing games and the Buc defense contributed two crucial interceptions and held the Giants to just 202 total yards. Tampa Bay’s running game finished the job by draining the last five minutes off the clock.
