Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9 Detroit Lions 30Sunday 29 September 1985 at The SilverdomeCBS COMMENTARY CREW Jim Hill and John Dockery
The Bucs fell to 0-4 on the season in spite of James Wilder's fourth straight 100-yard rushing game and eighth in a row dating back to the previous season. The Lions scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to break open a close game with Eric Hipple throwing two scores for Detroit. At this point in the season, Wilder was leading the NFL in rushing, the NFL in total yards from scrimmage and the NFC in receptions. But the Buc offense was just him and Jerry Bell as only three of Steve DeBerg's 19 receptions went to wide receivers.
