Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14 New York Giants 17Sunday 23 September 1984 at Giants StadiumCBS COMMENTARY CREWDick Stockton and Hank Stram
The third time the Bucs had played in the Meadowlands and the third straight time they had lost 17-14 to the Giants. James Wilder had a monster game including a TD run and a 35-yard reception that set up Adger Armstrong's TD in the fourth quarter. As Lawrence Taylor said after the game "James Wilder is the best back I have ever played against in my life". Taylor himself had a great game including four sacks of Steve DeBerg who was making his first start for the Bucs. The Giants were able to run out the final 4:02 of the clock to preserve the victory.
