The Bucs ran their losing streak to nine games in this loss to the Steelers, but once again, it was a game they should have won. Moving FB James Wilder to the tailback position, the Bucs' star back set a then-NFL record with 42 carries in one game. The Bucs led 12-0 going into the 4th quarter thanks to seven turnovers, but allowed the AFC Central Division champions to get back into the game. Leading 12-10 with five minutes left, Kevin House dropped an apparent TD pass when behind the Steeler secondary and the Bucs were forced to punt. Pittsburgh then drove downfield and won the game on Frank Pollard's one-yard run with 31 seconds left.
