Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17 New York Jets 32Sunday 12 December 1982 at Shea StadiumCBS COMMENTARY CREWPat Summerall and John Madden
In a game played in 23 degree temperatures, the lowest ever at the time the Bucs had played in, fumbles killed Tampa chances of a third straight win. They had eight in the snowy conditions at Shea Stadium, losing three of them. The Jets drove 62 yards to score on the opening drive of the game and when the Bucs fumbled the ensuing kickoff, Freeman McNeil's second touchdown run of the quarter put Tampa Bay into an early 14-0 hole. The Bucs closed to 17-10 in the third quarter but Ken Schroy's interception set up Richard Todd's one-yard scoring strike to Micky Shuler. James Wilder led the team with 11 receptions and a 100-yard receiving day.
