Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0 Chicago Bears 14 Sunday 2 December 1979 at Tampa Stadium CBS COMMENTARY CREW Tim Ryan and Johnny Morris
The Bucs were shutout for the first time in two seasons as they missed their second straight opportunity to clinch their first division title. They held the Bears to 164 yards of total offense including just six completions all to RB Dave Williams for just 26 yards. But five Buc interceptions, four by Doug Williams, kept the Bucs off the scoreboard and a blocked punt set up Walter Payton's one-yard run early in the game.
