Barber ran for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in the loss, logging the second career 100-yard game for the third-year back. "When Peyton has gotten his touches, his running style has showed up. His yards after contact, pushing the pile, I think Peyton has had a real solid season for the amount of touches he's gotten," head coach Dirk Koetter said. Barber entered the game having just two games of more than 16 carries, and his 3.7 yard-per-carry average entering the day had been pedestrian. But he averaged 5.9 yards per carry on Sunday, often driving for extra yards after drawing contact. While the Bucs looked to establish the run early, Barber ran for 62 of his 106 yards in the second half, even though the Bucs fell behind by 17 points. Barber's game-high 28-yard gain in the third quarter fueled the first of four straight touchdowns drives after the Bucs changed quarterbacks to Jameis Winston. Despite their top-tier passing attack, the Bucs have been looking to gain more balance by establishing the run. They went into the game with two running backs out — rookie Ronald Jones sidelined for the third straight game with a hamstring injury and rookie Shaun Wilson on IR with a shoulder injury. But thanks to Barber's output, the Bucs recorded their best rushing day of the season, posting 151 yards on the ground. The previous season high was 121 rushing yards in Week 4 at Atlanta.
