A couple of former Bucs were jubilant in the Baltimore locker room after a 48-17 rout that improved the Ravens to 4-2. Starting center Jeremy Zuttah, who played six seasons in Tampa, helped Baltimore generate 475 yards of offense while defensive end Steven Means was a happy spectator as a member of the Ravens practice squad.
“We came out with the right mentality — and it showed,’’ said Zuttah, who was traded to Baltimore in March for a fifth-round pick in the 2015 draft. “Every time I looked up at the scoreboard, I was like, ‘Wow.’ It seemed like everything we did was positive. It was good to be back and if this is my last time in this stadium, I’m fine with that.’’
Zuttah often found himself squaring off against Bucs Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who played once again with a fractured left hand. “It’s usually about Gerald’s get-off,’’ Zuttah said, “and that hand isn’t going to slow him up. He was still getting off the rock, chasing down plays. He’s a remarkable talent and he did all he could out there. I know the Bucs have a lot of talented guys. It’s their first year with a new staff and hopefully, they’ll get it figured out.’’
Means, a fifth-round pick in 2013, was released a month ago and signed to Baltimore’s practice squad last week. “I love all those boys in the Tampa room, but I’m happy to get the win,’’ Means said. “Pressuring Mike Glennon was a big emphasis going into the game. ...We got to him today.’’
